Ahhhh, organized shelves make me happy! The office supplies shelves organization project was a success. Yay!
Here was my process. One would think that just diving in would be the key to organization but actually I find it’s super helpful to take a step back before diving in to the piles and do a little strategy.
First of all, I took everything off the shelves and I divided all the stuff into three piles.
Pile 1: What I want to keep on the shelves because I still use those items
Pile 2: What needs to get out of the office and goes in to storage (which I’ll tackle later when I organize the bins in the garage)
Pile 3: Trash
Then, I assessed Pile #1 and figured out what I would need to purchase in order to organize the items on my shelves.
I’m currently working on one of my goals called Clean Up My House and Keep It Clean. Today I’ve decided to focus on my home office as my first place to clean in my house since I spend a lot of time in here.
I’m going to work on reorganizing my office supplies bookshelves today. Lately those particular bookshelves have become a dumping ground for stray paper while also being a surface I can shove things onto.
My hope is that when I’m done, I’ll only have things in the there that I actually use and all the items are neatly organized and easy to get to.
We’ll see how it goes!
